Dmitry Kristopher Marcy

Professional musician, entertainer, artist and art enthusiast, and mental-health advocate, Dmitry prioritizes sharing the teachings of Afro-Cuban percussion while giving historical and indigenous peoples respect and reference. Stemming from a diverse background, Dmitry suffered bullying and prejudice as many do. It was his place of birth that inspired him to develop a mindset of realistic optimism. His love for teaching stemmed from the understanding from teachings of pain and suffering that all people struggle and sometimes simply a helping hand is all you need to make a positive change. Dmitry carries with him a faith that is strong-willed and gently mentors those who seek mentorship. His artistic catalogue ranges across the spectrum of human emotion and reinforces his belief for self-financed, creative freedom with a direction for sparking positive change in the world. Dmitry’s hope is to start a small indie-game/multimedia company with dependable, sincere, and genuine colleagues with a focus on demystifying mental health for survivors and supporters of survivors. Marcy is actively outreaching to mental health resource centres to gain research and make this dream a reality. A core source of inspiration for this future company is an interactive digital medium indie developer known as Oddworld Inhabitants. They were a source of positive growth for Dmitry, and proved to him that he is capable of achieving his dreams, even if they feel unreachable and unrealistic. Marcy was amazed to see that Oddworld Inhabitants were and still are largely self-financed and creatively driven, putting story telling and artistic expression at the forefront. To this day, this company remains an inspiring force for Dmitry’s creative and artistic endeavours. He hopes he can meet Lorne Lanning and Sherry McKenna one day, whether for future employment, a tour of the facility, or even in a coffee shop.
